Phreedom Santé is a wholly owned subsidiary of Phenomenome Discoveries Inc. (PDI).

PDI was founded in 2000 in Saskatoon. It is privately owned and employs over 50 people at its research facilities in Innovation Place Research Park. PDI continues to conduct biomarker research, and has launched diagnostics and therapeutic product development divisions, in addition to Phreedom Santé, based on the results of this research.

PDI's research is based on the study of metabolomics, which allows an instantaneous snapshot of the biochemistry of a living system. This makes metabolomics a highly comprehensive and efficient science for studying human biological functions. PDI holds patents on research platforms for performing metabolomics and for analyzing the resulting data.

It has been PDI's research goal to understand the biochemical disruptions that are risk factors in the development of human health disorders such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. PDI collaborates with prestigious international research institutes and publishes the results of its research in peer reviewed scientific journals.

PDI has filed patents on biomarkers in multiple human health disorders, and has provided Phreedom Santé an exclusive right to monitor health risk using these proprietary biomarkers.
